DSRC & C-V2X/V2V Antenna Communication - GTT
Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) has been a very popular topic since 2014, while NHTSA legalize that all the cars in the United States need to be equipped with a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication devices by 2023. Not to mention the EU version of ITS-G5 and the leading 3GPP of Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) are catching up lately. GTT is experienced in the DSRC & C-V2X communication, our DSRC antenna and the RSU are Omniair certified and we have been research and developed in DSRC relevant RF design since 2013. 
 
Recent case came from KPN- 5G truck platooning field trial test in Netherlands. In 2020 summer season, KPN from Netherlands has announced its successful 5G truck platooning field trial together with Bosch the Netherlands, Siemens, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, Eindhoven University of Technology.
First of all, what is truck platoon? Early in 2018, enterpriseiotinsights.com explained the newly aroused development thoroughly, "Truck platooning involves a number of trucks equipped with state-of-the-art driving support systems. The vehicles move in a group or platoon with the trucks driven by smart technology and communicating with one another. Truck platooning offers potential innovation for the transport sector globally."

It was believed this development enabled the capacity of loads, reduced fuel consumption and boosted traffic flow. This article also unveiled US truck platoon service provider Peloto Technology had started investment in the US and 9 states in the US has approved full truck platooning in later 2018. At the same time, EU countries also dedicated to this advanced development, for example Daimler Trucks, ENSEMBLE project and KPN this year.
In this latest trial test, one pioneer car sent its intentions to following two vehicles. This 5G network not only ensures mobile signal coverage but also priorities decisions across all the applications. In this video, in order to send & receive signal across trucks and vehicles, roadside units(RSU) play an unbeatable roles within this technology, see below picture. RSU would be a device which is the centre of all the information exchange and deliver. Thus, they are always outdoor, mount high & firm. It should be waterproof or weatherproof, usually with surge protection. It also should be low profile to keep any attention out. IK rating product would be recommended. The omni and the mushroom-shaped external antenna contains the above significances. They are from GTT outdoor DSRC & C-V2X/V2V Communication series.
